I tried both back to back the other day and it was immediately clear that VorpX was not smooth, and looked worse.
The proper Skyrim VR runs much, much better, which means it can be both smoother AND better looking at the same time, and you can install the mods you want. Even then, you're pretty much running at 45fps on a good day (sometimes lower).
In VorpX, you have to limit the graphics settings and, particularly, the graphical mods. The reason I'm only playing Skyrim VR now is simply performance. (If you've not tried it, the mouse in VorpX just controls turning, like the right thumbstick on the Rift, and you aim by looking, which I quite like). Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005 (could not find on Steam) Need for Speed Shift 2 (could not find on Steam). it's much quicker to turn round), but the controllers in Skyrim VR certainly add something to the experience for bow use and spellcasting. I took the list from VorpX's site (https. Most Wanted allows players to select one car and compete against other racers in three types of events: Sprint races, which involves traveling from one point of the city to another, Circuit races, each having two or three. The game takes on the gameplay style of the first Most Wanted title in the Need for Speed franchise. Mouse/keyboard in VorpX is much better for movement in terms of precision and speed (e.g. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is set in an open world environment.
Bearing in mind that I played both seated, it was 50:50 for me in terms of controls. VorpX was every bit as good an experience in terms of the VR aspects, being just as '3D'. It took me some time to get things working how I wanted (get rid of big hands, for example, and some mods to ensure I wasn't losing parts of the UI), but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was using VorpX for a while (50-60hrs gameplay).
